THE OLDEST STRUCTURE IN ONTARIO. Partly restored perimiter walls of Fort Frontenac, built by the Frenchman, Count Frontenac in 1673 to promote fur trade with the native population. It was abandoned to the Iroquois in 1689, recaptured in 1695 by the French, and it was captured by the British in 1758 who partly destroyed it.
