After a two year break from yoga I went to Auckland Yoga Academy recently, and found the staff friendly and helpful. They directed me to the appropriate class for my ability. I found the teacher friendly and knowledgeable, she explained the poses as the class progressed, I really enjoyed the experience would recommend it to anybody looking for an enjoyable place to practise yoga :)

Really disappointed with the man at the front desk. I showed up as a drop in for the Mysore class and he strongly discouraged me from taking it, then tried to talk me into buying a beginners package. When I told him I was only staying in Auckland for one day, he told me "it's not going to work, is it." He didn't give me any other option even though there are a range of classes I could have taken that day, I had to ask whether I could take a different one. After this exchange I didn't feel comfortable attending the studio. He acted like he didn't want my business which was so disappointing because I visit Auckland quite frequently. I'll make sure to use a different studio in the future and inform my colleagues of the attitude of the man at the front desk so they too know what to expect from such an unfriendly person.

This was my first time doing Ashtanga, I was in Auckland on business so went along. The studio is really nice and the teacher (Mariana) was very good and very helpful with some of the poses and positions I wasn't familiar with. I really enjoyed the class and will definitely go back next time I'm staying in the city...
