These elephants were having a bit of fun
we paddled VERY close to this elephant to get a good shot. I recall thinking that it was ok to be so close as we were in the water. Then I felt with my paddle that it was about 4 inches deep.

Today we did a four-in-one safari. It started with a drive, but there wasn't much to see that we didn't see yesterday. Then we had to hike down this valley. It was a bazillion degrees C
The next part of the safari was by canoe around lake Kariba. Now this was more like it. But those hippos were rather close.

We spotted lots of evidence of elephants, and not much else until we stumbled across this hippo. Which fortunately retreated to the water when it saw us.

At Kariba, we managed to find this Kariba Breezes hotel. At first we thought it was a bit ramshackle, but we quickly fell in love with it. Very laid back and great food!
