Via tracks from Brockville to Ottawa. Connects to the VIA trains from Montreal to Toronto in Brockville. Originally built in 1858 by the Brockville and Ottawa Railway (B&O) as a wide guage railway, changed to standard guage in 1880.

Cataraqui Trail, facing south, turn right here, and hike to Portland, Sydenham, Yarker and Strathcona Ontario. A beautiful 104 km. hike. Try it for fall colours. The black sign board is the back side of information about the Cataraqui Trail.
Start of the Cataraqui Trail in Smith Falls here. There is a short urban walk around the back of a commercial district, then onto the old Canadian Northern Railway (CNoR) railway bed to head south.

The Cataraqui Trail crosses Anglican Church Road here. It was built on the former Canadian Northern Railway bed (CNoR) which went from Toronto to Ottawa in 1912. Looking south.
